Baseball Recap: South Plaquemines Takes a Loss

After flying high against New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy last Thursday, South Plaquemines came back down to earth. South Plaquemines came up short against the Sumner Cowboys on Friday, falling 16-1. The Hurricanes have struggled against the Cowboys recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

South Plaquemines saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rod Parker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Parker is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

South Plaquemines' defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Sumner, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

South Plaquemines will face off against Wright at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sumner, they will challenge Doyle at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
