Macon suffers third straight loss at home

Recap: Macon Tigers vs. Marshall Owls

This season hasn't been kind to the Macon Tigers, who are still winless after their sixth match. They fell just short of Marshall by a score of 71-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Marshall got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Thompson out in front who scored 18 points along with three steals. Thompson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Kueker, who scored 15 points along with four steals.

Macon bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Marshall, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Macon will face off against Mark Twain at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Mark Twain is ranked 510th, while Macon is ranked 494th). As for Marshall, they will head out on the road to take on Harrisburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
