The Mount View Golden Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Pocahontas County Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.

Mount View proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 20) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over Summit Christian Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Knights have posted since May 13, 2024.

Kyrece Hughes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Clemins, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Pocahontas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 9-1 to Pendleton County.

Mount View now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pocahontas County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Mount View came out on top in a nail-biter against Pocahontas County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
