Baseball Game Preview: Bethlehem Central Eagles vs. Maple Hill Wildcats

The Bethlehem Central Eagles will take on the Maple Hill Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Bethlehem Central made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Shenendehowa, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Plainsmen by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The Eagles have struggled against the Plainsmen recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Sean Matrose and Sam Spector stepped up to the plate in a big way. Matrose got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI, while Spector went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.

Coxsackie-Athens hit Maple Hill with a nine-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 15-2 to the Riverhawks.
