Football Game Preview: Tazewell Bulldogs vs. Virginia High Bearcats + How To Watch

Tazewell is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Virginia High Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. Tazewell's offense hasn't had much luck over their past five matchups, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tazewell's last matchup with Giles could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Bulldogs were beaten by the Spartans 43-13. On the bright side, the 13- point performance marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Meanwhile, Virginia High slipped by Grayson County 27-26 on Monday.

Virginia High's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.3 points over those games. As for Tazewell, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Tazewell took a serious blow against Virginia High when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 45-7. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bulldogs were down 28-7.
