            The Lockney Longhorns will venture away from home to  challenge the Lubbock Christian Eagles  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Lockney will roll into the  matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two  runs  on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Quanah  on Friday. The Longhorns' pitcher stepped up to hand the Indians  a   17-0 shutout. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Longhorns' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

 Madison Marmolejo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Siya Salazar was a standout: she scored three  runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in February.  Miannette Rubio was another key player,  scoring three  runs while going 1-for-2.
 Meanwhile, Lubbock Christian waltzed into their contest  on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past Temple Christian 17-3. Considering Lubbock Christian has won 15 games by more than seven  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Lubbock Christian pushed their record up to 20-2 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lockney, their record now sits at 7-15.
 Lockney suffered a grim  15-5 defeat to Lubbock Christian  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2023. Can the Longhorns avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
