Volleyball Recap: Mt. Hope Has No Trouble Against Burrillville

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Mt. Hope and Burrillville, and Mt. Hope kept the tradition alive. The Huskies blew past the Broncos 3-0 on Thursday. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Mt. Hope walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-22, 25-12, 25-22.

Rasheed Braddock was the offensive standout of the match as he had nine digs and three aces. Those nine digs gave him a new career-high. Jacob Betres also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Mt. Hope was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in seven consecutive games.

Mt. Hope's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Burrillville, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mt. Hope is set to face off against their familiar foe Davies Career & Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Burrillville will take on rival Mt. Pleasant at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
