Softball Recap: Nederland Gets the Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Nederland walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Weiss Wolves 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Saydee Montoya was excellent, going 1-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Hope Foster, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Nederland's win bumped their record up to 24-8. As for Weiss, they moved to 21-12 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Nederland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
