Volleyball Recap: Machias Takes a Loss

Machias and Woodland squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Machias had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Machias couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Woodland a tough time in the second set. The final score came out to 25-5, 28-30, 25-16, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Machias saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Myra Look had eight digs and three aces. Look has been hot, having posted three or more aces the last eight times she's played.

Machias' defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Woodland, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Machias does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against George Stevens Academy on the 29th.
