Baseball Recap: Pikesville Comes Up Short

Pikesville suffered their biggest loss since April 19, 2024 on Monday. They came up short against the Hereford Bulls, falling 11-3. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Michael Payne was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kairee Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Pikesville and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Hereford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Pikesville will challenge Lansdowne at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hereford, they will host Perry Hall at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
