Freeburg is 8-2 against Wesclin since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Freeburg will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Wesclin at 4:30 p.m. Wesclin took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Freeburg, who comes in off a win.

Freeburg is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since May 6, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Byron.

Max Biehl made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Liam Scaiefe looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jase Brentlinger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Wesclin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 18-6 to Pinckneyville.

Wesclin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Freeburg, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Freeburg took their win against Wesclin in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 14-1. Does Freeburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wesclin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
