Softball Game Preview: Martinsville Artesians vs. Perry Meridian Falcons

For the second straight game, Martinsville will face off against Perry Meridian. The Artesians will head out on the road to square off against the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Martinsville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Martinsville took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Perry Meridian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Artesians came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Artesians have posted since April 29th.

For Perry Meridian's part, Macy Stroud made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. With that strong performance, Stroud is now averaging an impressive 1 stolen bases per game.

Martinsville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-15. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games.
