Football Recap: Cooper Cougars vs. Azle Hornets
Cooper had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Azle Hornets 49-25 on Friday. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 41-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Cooper had a senior duo take command as Jaden Carrillo rushed for 87 yards and two scores and Peyton Ewing rushed for 98 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. Ewing's longest rush was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
