Football Recap: Trivium Prep Comes Up Short

Trivium Prep played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 50-7 loss at the hands of the Phoenix Christian Cougars. The Crimson Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 22-0.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed six in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Benjamin Wolfley, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Phoenix Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaron Whitten led the charge by rushing for 65 yards and one score, while also catching one TD. Whitten was even better on defense, picking up two sacks and making six total tackles. Another receiver making a difference was Cashis Grimwade, who gained 71 total yards and two touchdowns.

Trivium Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Phoenix Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
