Basketball Game Preview: Erie Tigers vs. Columbine Rebels

Having just played yesterday, the Erie Tigers will get right back to it and host the Columbine Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Erie is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on Boulder with a sharp 45-23 victory on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Sophie Husk and Juliet Slater were among the main playmakers for Erie as the former posted 18 points and four steals and the latter earned 11 points along with eight boards and five steals. That's the most steals Slater has posted since back in January of 2024. Addison Greenlee was another key player, putting up six points.

Meanwhile, Columbine had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 77 points) and they went ahead and made it four two weeks ago. Everything went their way against the Raptors as they made off with a 58-36 victory. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 22 points or more this season.

Columbine's win came from a few key players Erie will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mason Abraham, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Washington, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 17 points and six rebounds.

Erie's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Columbine, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
