Conard proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by five) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a goal and slipped past the Lewis Mills Spartans 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given Conard's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut soccer rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Lewis Mills are ranked 20th).

Conard's victory bumped their record up to 3-5-1. As for Lewis Mills, they moved to 6-3-1 with that loss, which also ended their six-match winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Conard is set to square off against their familiar foe Farmington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lewis Mills will take on rival Bloomfield at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
