Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Eagles vs. Mae Jemison Jaguars

Columbia hasn't had much luck against Mae Jemison recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Columbia Eagles will head out to challenge the Mae Jemison Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Mae Jemison took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Columbia, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with 18 losses in a row dating back to last season, Columbia turned things around against Athens on Friday. They walked away with a 39-28 victory over the Golden Eagles. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 130th).

Meanwhile, Mae Jemison lost to Sparkman at home by a 59-41 margin on Friday. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mae Jemison's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Columbia, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-16.

Columbia took a serious blow against Mae Jemison when the teams last played back in January of 2022, falling 70-33. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Columbia was down 38-16.
