Softball Game Preview: Greenwood Bulldogs vs. Lavaca Golden Arrows

The Greenwood Bulldogs will face off against the Lavaca Golden Arrows at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lavaca will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Greenwood extended their winning streak to six on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Russellville. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Lavaca entered their tilt with Paris on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 victory.

Lavaca got a big performance out of Maggie Landis, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayli Stockton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Greenwood pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lavaca, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
