League recap: Etna extends undefeated streak to seven games

Shasta Cascade league recap: 5/7/12

Shasta Cascade's longest active winning streak belongs to Etna (20-4, 9-1), undefeated over its last seven games. In the past week, the Lions won another 2 games, includinga 10-2 victory over Mt. Shasta. Ricky Reynolds led Etna's offense with five hits and three RBIs this week.

After a week in which it went 2-0, the Lions jumped from 613 to 576 in the national rankings, the biggest increase in the league.

Fall River continues to give up the least hits to opposing lineups this season, after surrendering only two in the past week. For the entire year, Fall River has given up only 83 base hits.

Modoc's Grady Server finished his week with seven hits, tops in the league. On the season, he's hitting .333 and ranks thirty-fourth in the league with 11 hits.

Patrick Danley was an RBI machine on May 4, 2012, as he knocked in four runs during Modoc's 17-5 win over Weed.
