Mt. Vernon waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Strafford Indians by a score of 7-3. The Mountaineers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Mt. Vernon's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Strafford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-12.

Coming up, Mt. Vernon will challenge Nevada at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mountaineers surely won't give up without a fight. Strafford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
