Baseball Recap: Kingston Finds Home Field Redemption Against Deckerville

There's no place like home for Kingston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Deckerville Eagles 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Eagles on Thursday, they had to take a 6-3 defeat.

Nick Cummings was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bronson Skinner, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Kingston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Kingston has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10-1 record this season. As for Deckerville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5-1.

Looking ahead, Kingston will venture away from home to square off against Sandusky at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Deckerville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harbor Beach at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
