Volleyball Recap: Medina Valley Comes Up Short

If Medina Valley was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Southwest on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the East Central Hornets by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2020.

Medina Valley's offense was headlined by Liv Halbeisen and Raelynn Wiemers, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Alana Smith and her 12 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Medina Valley now has a losing record of 4-5. As for East Central, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Medina Valley has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Comfort on the 21st. As for East Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Goliad on the 21st.
