Basketball Recap: Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Skates Past Red Rock with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Phoenix Country Day, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Red Rock Scorpions, posting a 53-6 victory. The matchup marked the Spartans' most dominant win of the season.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chloe Crandall out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. Maeve Morgan was another key player, putting up six points in addition to ten steals and five assists.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Red Rock's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dalila Pedroza, who posted four points.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points per game. As for Red Rock, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coincidentally, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy and Red Rock will both be playing Madison Highland Prep the next time they take the court. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will host Madison Highland Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Red Rock will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
