Softball Game Preview: Willis Wildkats vs. College Park Cavaliers

The Willis Wildkats will take on the College Park Cavaliers at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Willis has three straight victories, College Park has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Willis got the win against Cleveland by a conclusive 16-1. The Wildkats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Hadley Lebow was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Prihoda, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Culp, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Willis lost a few balls and finished the game with seven home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, College Park suffered their closest defeat since March 4th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Grand Oaks by a score of 5-3.

College Park's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Willis, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.
