Basketball Recap: Blue Valley Southwest Comes Up Short

Blue Valley Southwest came up into this matchup off a tough 35-point loss last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers by a score of 50-47 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Timberwolves have suffered since January 18th.

When it comes to explaining why Blue Valley Southwest lost, don't look at Eli Mick. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Arterburn, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Blue Valley Southwest is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Gardner-Edgerton, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-1.

Blue Valley Southwest will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Park Hill South on January 11, 2025.
