League recap: Cryar overpowering for Orangewood Christian in past week

3A District 5 league recap: 4/3/13

Jason Cryar was the best pitcher in 3A District 5 this week, leading Orangewood Christian. He retired ten batters this week.

Top honors in the league this week go to Mount Dora Bible, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. The Bulldogs beat St. Andrew's 8-7.

After surrendering only one walk in the past week, the Rams remain No. 1 in the league in that category for the season, with just 39 total.

Seven batters hit over .400 this week. Leading the pack was Joey Swinarski, who hit 1.000 by going 3-for-3.

With six runs batted in this week, Mount Dora Bible's Tevin Symonette increased his league-leading total in that category to 22.



Forrest Wall drove in four runners on Tuesday in Orangewood Christian's 6-3 victory over Pine Ridge. He went 2-for-3 and scored one run.

First Academy's Cryar struck out ten the Rams hitters en route to a 9-8 victory on March 27. He gave up five hits and three runs over five innings of work.
