The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tarpon Springs in their matchups with Mitchell: they've now lost four in a row.
Tarpon Springs' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Emily Cartier, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds, and Jayla Beausil who scored 3 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mitchell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylana Little, who scored 18 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Priya Jacob, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 steals.
Tarpon Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mitchell, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tarpon Springs will take on East Lake at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. East Lake's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so Tarpon Springs' offense will have their work cut out for Tarpon Springs. As for Mitchell, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fivay at 7:30 p.m. Fivay and Mitchell are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
