Basketball Recap: Westview Skates Past Benson with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westview). They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 84-42 victory over the Benson Bunnies. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-24.

Reegon Hollingsworth produced another solid effort shooting 75% from beyond the arc en route to 23 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Elijah Wilborn also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Westview was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benson only racked up four.

Benson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Damian Ruiz, who earned ten points. Another player making a difference was Zhyaire Partee, who put up 12 points and five boards.

The win was the third in a row for Westview, bringing their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.0 points over those games. As for Benson, they suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 4-2.

Westview has already played their next matchup (against Burke), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Benson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-63 win against Bryan on the 18th.
