Preview: Delhi Bears vs. Sicily Island Tigers
Delhi is 10-0 against Sicily Island since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Delhi Bears will be playing at home against the Sicily Island Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Delhi has five straight victories, Sicily Island has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Delhi strolled past Delhi Charter with points to spare, taking the game 59-42.
Delhi can attribute much of their success to Jimmy Spruill, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Jay Wright, who scored 24 points along with five steals. Spruill has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ge'ryl Barnes, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Sicily Island might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Forest an easy 55-32 win.
Delhi has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Sicily Island, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Delhi against Sicily Island in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 71-13 victory. With Delhi ahead 50-5 at the half, the match was all but over already.
