Bullitt East had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Niles West on Monday. Bullitt East put the hurt on Niles West with a sharp 8-1 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.

Garrison Miller tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Oliver Barnhouse and Hunter Holland did most of the damage at the plate: Barnhouse scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Holland scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Luke Renfrow, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Fern Creek fell victim to Collins and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bullitt East's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fern Creek, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Bullitt East took their win against Fern Creek in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bullitt East since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
