Baseball Recap: Lyon County Lyons vs. Caldwell County Tigers
There's no place like home for Lyon County, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Caldwell County Tigers a 6-0 shutout on Friday. The Lyons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.
Peyton Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Korben Lucas was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Turner Hurst, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Lyon County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
