North Platte couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 30-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Butler Bears on Friday.
Although North Platte took the loss, they still got scores from Caleb Wright, Dylan Armstrong, and Logan Manville.
Butler can attribute much of their success to Kellen Long, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 170 yards and a touchdown on only 14 passes. Another player making a difference was Xavier Wisdom, who gained 122 total yards.
North Platte will challenge Milan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Platte is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for Butler, they will take on Sherwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
