Volleyball Recap: Illiana Christian Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Illiana Christian dropped to 3-3 on Tuesday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Lake Central Indians. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Indians when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dorothy Leep paced Illiana Christian's offense, picking up six kills. Leep got some help from Anya Lindemulder and her ten assists.

As for Lake Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2. The game marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

Lake Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella Steliga, who had 18 assists and three digs. Those 18 assists gave Steliga a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Barth, who had 19 digs and two aces.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Illiana Christian will face off against Marquette Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Central, they will host Andrean at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
