Softball Recap: Dexter Takes a Loss

Dexter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-16 heartbreaker at the hands of the Advance Hornets. Even if the Bearcats couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Dexter got a massive performance out of Melanie Pfeffer, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylinn Conn-Harris, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Dexter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Advance, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Looking ahead, Dexter will venture away from home to challenge Clearwater at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bearcats will need to watch out since the Fightin' Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games. As for Advance, they will welcome Bloomfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
