Basketball Recap: Deep Run Comes Up Short

Deep Run was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 61-50 to the Cristo Rey Royals.

Leading Cristo Rey to victory were Jabril Scott and Jemell Smith. Scott dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds, while Smith went 6-for-13 to rack up 19 points and five assists. Those 24 points gave Scott a new career-high. Haven Wilson was another key player, putting up nine points.

Deep Run's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Cristo Rey, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Deep Run didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-54 loss against Thomas Jefferson on the 6th. As for Cristo Rey, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-55 defeat against Veritas Collegiate Academy on the 3rd.
