Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Castaic

Castaic extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 16-9 in the process. They blew past the Canyon Cowboys 14-1. With that victory, the Coyotes brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Andrew Bond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jr Yera, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Maddox Anderson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Castaic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

As for Canyon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 16 of their last 17 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-21 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

On Canyon's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Benny Santos, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
