Baseball Game Preview: El Cerrito Gauchos vs. De Anza Dons

The El Cerrito Gauchos will take on the De Anza Dons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. El Cerrito is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

El Cerrito's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Albany.

El Cerrito got a great performance from AJ Bissell as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Coles, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Warren Lieu, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, De Anza hadn't done well against Pinole Valley recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Dons came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dons.

De Anza's win bumped their record up to 5-14-1. As for El Cerrito, their victory bumped their record up to 18-7.
