Basketball Recap: Manchester Takes a Loss

Manchester lost against Wabash back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Manchester Squires received a blow as they fell 57-38 to the Wabash Apaches. While losing is never fun, the Squires can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Apaches are ranked 97th).

Despite the loss, Manchester still got an impressive performance from Emma Walker, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 16 points and eight boards. Walker has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Kaitlynn Honeycutt continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wabash, going 8 of 13 en route to 21 points along with eight boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryleigh Boggs, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Wabash, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.

Manchester has already played their next game (against North Miami), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Wabash is taking a road trip to challenge Lewis Cass at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wabash is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
