Volleyball Game Preview: Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans vs. Caldwell Academy Eagles + How To Watch

Wesleyan Christian Academy and Caldwell Academy are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Trojans will head out to challenge the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a 12-game winning streak alive.

On Monday, Wesleyan Christian Academy made easy work of Winston Salem Christian and carried off a 3-0 win.

Wesleyan Christian Academy was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-7, 25-19.

Wesleyan Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucy Gonzalez, who had nine digs and three aces. Gonzalez is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Elle Gardner also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Meanwhile, Caldwell Academy got the win against Forsyth Country Day on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-18, 25-15.

Wesleyan Christian Academy better keep an eye on Lilli Telleysh. She was instrumental in Caldwell Academy's win, getting 16 assists and three aces. That's the most aces Telleysh has posted over her last seven matches.

Wesleyan Christian Academy's record is now 15-1. As for Caldwell Academy, their record now sits at 15-2.

Wesleyan Christian Academy took their win against Caldwell Academy when the teams last played back in August of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
