Softball Game Preview: Triway Titans vs. Dalton Bulldogs

The Triway Titans will head out to take on the Dalton Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Triway will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Friday, it was close, but Triway sidestepped Louisville for a 9-8 victory.

Alyssa Hochstetler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Myah Lester, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Dalton's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Norwayne.

Mei Simmons was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Simmons wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Wenger, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Dalton's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Triway, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Triway hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Dalton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
