Baseball Recap: Ripon Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ripon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Wautoma Hornets 3-1. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 6-4 victory the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Shay Otto made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ripon is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-18 otherwise. Otto was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double.

Ripon's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-20. As for Wautoma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

As of now, neither Ripon nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
