Baseball Recap: Hagerstown Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Hagerstown dropped their record down to 9-6 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jay County Patriots. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Jay County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9. The game was the first time they have beaten Hagerstown on their field since May 4, 2019.

For Jay County's part, Zedrian Vazquez tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Carter Fugiett was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Foster, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

While Hagerstown had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
