League recap: Danner dominating on the mound for Gloucester County Tech

Tri-County - Royal league recap: 6/5/13

Jake Danner was the best pitcher in Tri-County - Royal this week, leading Gloucester County Tech. He picked up one win and 12 strikeouts.

First place in the league belongs to Triton, which has compiled a 6-15 overall record to go with its 2-0 league record. Williamstown sits -0.5 game back in second, with a 7-4 record in league play.

Gloucester County Tech's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 17 hits and 13 walks to lead the league in both categories.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Danner, who turned in 12 Ks for Gloucester County Tech. He's first in the league with 54 total strikeouts.

Gloucester County Tech's Tommy Kleinhans was locked in this week, and led the league with a .444 average (4-for-9) over that span. For the season, he's hitting .328, good for eighth in the league. Kleinhans has accumulated 21 base knocks this year so far.



Gloucester County Tech's Danner threw seven shutout innings in a 5-0 win over Sussex County Tech on Thursday. He struck out nine, allowing one hit.
