Softball Recap: Rubidoux Comes Up Short

Rubidoux was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 11-8 to the La Sierra Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 8-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Mary-Jane Ortega was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Rubidoux's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for La Sierra, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Rubidoux will challenge rival Jurupa Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, La Sierra is set to take on their familiar foe Ramona at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with the Eagles sitting on three straight victories and the Rams on four.
