Volleyball Recap: Doherty Comes Up Short

Doherty lost against Coronado last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Spartans fell 2-0 to the Cougars.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-8.

Hayden Peterson paced Doherty's offense, picking up three kills. Peterson got some help from Ryan Kaiser and his four assists. Finally, Kaiser was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Doherty has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Coronado, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 11-0.

Doherty has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Fountain-Fort Carson on the 22nd. As for Coronado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Sand Creek on the 22nd.
