Basketball Game Preview: Spanish Fork Dons vs. Skyline Eagles

The Spanish Fork Dons just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Skyline Eagles at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Spanish Fork has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Skyline will arrive with five straight wins.

On Thursday, Spanish Fork lost to Farmington on the road by a 47-33 margin.

While Skyline didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Bonneville 41-38. Those 41 points were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Spanish Fork better focus on containing Mia Johnson and Estella Myers as the pair were huge in Skyline's win. Johnson posted 13 points, while Myers had 19 points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds Myers has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Norah Pearce, who earned four points along with ten boards and three blocks.

Skyline's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Spanish Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Spanish Fork took their victory against Skyline in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 67-45 score. Do the Dons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
