Basketball Recap: Worthing Has No Trouble Against Warren Easton

On Friday, the Worthing Colts got the win against the Warren Easton Fighting Eagles by a conclusive 72-52. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Courtland Sloan was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. The game was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. Boston Greenwood was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Worthing has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points per game. As for Warren Easton, they moved to 8-7 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Worthing will venture away from home to challenge Waltrip at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Warren Easton, they and Fort Bend Kempner will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
