Football Recap: Boaz Starts Season with Victory Against Hoover

Boaz had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Hoover Buccaneers 38-0 on Tuesday.

Peyton Hall had an outrageously good game as she threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85% of her passes, and also rushed for 46 yards and a pair of TDs. Raina Underwood was another key player, picking up 82 receiving yards and two scores.

Boaz didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Arleigh Kate Mitchell led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Boaz will face off against rival Gardendale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hoover is set to square off against their familiar foe Spain Park at 5:30 p.m. on September 9. The game will give the Buccaneers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
