Recap: Elizabeth Forward Warriors vs. Uniontown Red Raiders
After a string of four wins, the Elizabeth Forward Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were dealt a 69-29 loss at the hands of Uniontown. Elizabeth Forward has struggled against Uniontown recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Uniontown was led to victory by K'Adrian McLee and Tori Grooms. McLee dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Grooms scored 14 points along with six assists. Grooms is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamire Braxton, who scored six points along with nine assists and eight rebounds.
Elizabeth Forward's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Uniontown, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-3.
Elizabeth Forward will be playing at home against Belle Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Belle Vernon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Elizabeth Forward likes a good challenge. As for Uniontown, they will head out on the road to take on Laurel Highlands at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Uniontown is facing Laurel Highlands at the right time seeing as Laurel Highlands is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
