Joliet West and Plainfield Central are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Tigers will host the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Joliet West is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Joliet West is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since March 31st on Wednesday. They fell just short of Plainfield East by a score of 3-1.

Joliet West saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Featherston, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Plainfield Central took on Plainfield South on Wednesday. The Wildcats came up short against the Cougars, falling 14-7.

Evalyn Prochaska was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Patterson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Joliet West's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Plainfield Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-1 record this season.

Joliet West skirted past Plainfield Central 4-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
